Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: December 11, 2025
1. Overview and Acceptance
This Refund and Cancellation Policy governs the terms of payment and termination for the Inspect-Data Risk Finder and Classification Intelligence SDK (the “Product” or “Service”). By purchasing a monthly or annual subscription, you agree to this policy. All fees are generally non-refundable, except under the limited conditions outlined in Section 5.
2. Free Trial and Billing Cycle
2.1. 7-Day Free Trial: All new users are granted a complimentary 7-day free trial. You must provide valid payment information and a license key will be issued immediately upon signup to begin the trial. You will not be charged during this period.
2.2. License Activation & Usage: The license key is a floating license which is validated on every execution (run) of the scanner. This mechanism prevents the same key from being used concurrently on more than one machine.
2.3. Trial Expiration and Payment: If you do not cancel your subscription before the end of the 7th day, your provided payment method will be automatically charged for your chosen subscription plan (monthly or annual) on the 8th day. Once charged, the service is instantly available for use.
3. Cancellation Policy
3.1. Monthly Subscriptions ($499/month example)
- You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time through your account management panel on the Site.
- Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Product until the end of your current paid monthly billing cycle.
- Monthly fees are non-refundable. No refunds will be provided for partial months, regardless of usage.
3.2. Annual Subscriptions ($4,799/year example)
- You may cancel your annual subscription at any time through your account management panel on the Site.
- Pro-rated Refund Structure: If you cancel your annual subscription, you may be eligible for a partial refund calculated as follows:
- Your utilized months of service will be charged at the higher, non-discounted monthly rate of $499 per month.
- The remaining unused time will be refunded.
- Calculation Example: If you cancel after 6 full months of service:
- Annual Fee Paid: $4,799
- Cost of Service Used (6 months @ $499/month): $2,994
- Refund Due: $4,799 - $2,994 = $1,805
- Access to the Product will terminate immediately upon the effective date of the cancellation and refund processing.
4. Non-Refundable Fees
Except for the specific conditions outlined in Section 5, all fees paid to Inspect-Data, Inc. are non-refundable. This includes:
- Monthly subscription fees, once charged.
- Fees for any portion of the service that you did not use (except for the pro-rated amount calculated in Section 3.2).
- Fees for any non-recurring setup, installation, or consulting services.
5. Limited Refund Eligibility
We will grant a full refund only under the following exceptions:
5.1. Accidental Initial Charge (First 24 Hours)
If you intended to cancel during the free trial but were accidentally charged on the 8th day, you may request a refund if:
- The request is submitted via email to contactus@inspect-data.com within twenty-four (24) hours of the charge.
- Crucially, the license key was never used to successfully execute the scanner. If the license key was successfully validated for even a single scanner run, the payment is deemed accepted and is non-refundable.
5.2. Verified Technical Failure
A full refund may be considered if:
- A core, essential feature of the Product is completely unusable due to a fault directly within the Inspect-Data software code (not related to your infrastructure, environment, or network).
- The failure makes the Product essentially unusable for its intended purpose.
- The issue is reported to our support team, and our team is unable to provide a fix or workaround within seven (7) business days of the initial report.
6. Refund Request Process
All refund requests must be submitted to contactus@inspect-data.com with the subject line: “REFUND REQUEST: [Your Account Name]”. Please include:
- Your full name and account email address.
- Date of the charge you are disputing.
- A detailed description explaining how your request meets the eligibility criteria in Section 5, or the cancellation date for a pro-rated annual refund.
If approved, the refund will be processed back to your original payment method within 10-14 business days.
7. Loss of Access
If a refund is granted, your license key will be immediately revoked, and the Product will cease functioning upon its next validation check (scanner run). If your subscription is canceled (not refunded), your access will terminate at the end of the paid billing cycle.
